Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground is a picturesque cricket ground located in Kirtipur, Nepal.

Also known as Kirtipur Cricket Stadium or TU Cricket Ground, the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground was established in 1998 and has a seating capacity of 25,000.

Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground is situated within the premises of Tribhuvan University and it serves as the headquarters for the Cricket Association of Nepal.

The renowned cricket venue staged its first cricket match when Bangladesh played Papua New Guinea in the ACC Trophy 1998.

It has hosted several international competitions, including the 2010 ICC World Cricket League Division Five and the 2015-17 ICC World Cricket League Championship.

The Kirtipur Cricket Stadium staged its first one-day international in February 2020 between hosts Nepal and Oman in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. Oman won the match by 18 runs. 

Apart from international matches, the cricket ground has hosted many domestic tournaments such as Everest Premier League, Prime Minister One Day Cup and the inaugural Nepal Premier League.

Lowest total

The Maldives cricket team registered the lowest total at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in T20 cricket. Between 2019 and 2024, the right-handed batter has amassed 797 runs in 27 matches at an average of 39.85 and a strike rate of 146.50. He has also slammed one century and five fifties at this venue in T20 cricket. During the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier Final in November 2023, Muhammad Amir registered match-winning figures of 5/16 against Singapore in Kirtipur, Nepal. Defending 198, left-arm spinner Muhammad Amir dismissed Anish Paraam, Thilip Thilappan, Surendran Chandramohan, wicketkeeper-batter Manpreet Singh and Harsha Bharadwaj to bowl out Singapore for 138 in 17.5 overs as Malaysia won the game by 60 runs.

Highest partnership

Netherlands�Michael Levitt and Sybrand Engelbrecht hold the record for the highest partnership at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in T20 cricket. During a Nepal Triangular Series match in February 2024, Michael Levitt and Sybrand Engelbrecht stitched a massive 193-run stand for the second wicket to power Netherlands to 247/5 in their allotted overs. Michael Levitt hammered 135 off 62 balls while Sybrand Engelbrecht slammed a 40-ball 75. Netherlands later won the game by 59 runs.

The Nepal national cricket team will lock horns with Scotland in their final game of the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series in Houston, Texas on Monday, November 4.

USA will meet Nepal in an ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27 match on Sunday, October 27.

The USA vs Nepal match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas is scheduled to start on Sunday at 9:00 PM IST. Live streaming of the match will be available in India.

The match is a part of a tri-nation series, with Scotland as the third team, which is further part of the qualification process for the ICC Cricket World Cup to be hosted by South Africa in 2027. 

The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27 has eight teams that will play a total of 144 matches. The League has been split into tri-series events with each team playing a total of 36 matches, four matches each in three home series and six away series.

The top four teams in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27 will progress to play the final qualifiers of the ICC 2027 World Cup with four teams from the final qualifiers moving on to play in the World Cup. 

USA step into this contest after suffering a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Scotland on Friday. However, this will be Nepal’s first match in this tri-series with the second match scheduled to happen against Scotland on Tuesday.

The USA vs Nepal T20I series 2024 will start in Dallas on October 18.

The first of the three-match T20I series between USA and Nepal is scheduled to start at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas on Friday at 05:30 AM IST.

The second match is slated to happen on Sunday, October 20 while the last T20I will be held on Monday, October 21. All the matches will be played at the same venue in Dallas and will start at 05:30 AM IST.

Monank Patel will continue to lead the 15-member USA team after helming the side to the Super 8s in the T20 World Cup 2024 in their backyard. 

Andries Gous, Aaron Jones, Saurabh Netravalkar and Harmeet Singh who were all a part of USA’s memorable campaign at the T20 World Cup have been selected for the T20I series against Nepal.

The Nepal national cricket team will lock horns with hosts Canada in the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 opener on Saturday, September 28.

The Nepal vs Canada T20 2024 will start at 9:30 PM Indian Standard Time (9:45 PM Nepal time).

Apart from Nepal and Canada, Oman is the other team that will feature in the upcoming Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 to be played at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground in King City, Ontario.

Oman will meet Nepal in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27 at the Maple Leaf North-West Ground in King City, Canada on Tuesday, September 24.

Led by captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal will aim to bounce back after suffering a 103-run defeat against hosts Canada in the first match of their second ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series played at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground in Ontario on Monday.

Captain Nicholas Kirton smashed 73 off just 44 balls along with contributions from Navneet Dhaliwal (48), Dillon Heyliger (30) and Harsh Thaker (27) to help Canada post a competitive total of 253/8 in their 50 overs.

Pacer Sompal Kami and left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi bagged two wickets each for Nepal.

In reply, Nepal were bowled out for 150 in 40.1 overs as they succumbed to their fourth defeat in the ongoing ICC CWC League 2.

With just a solitary victory in five matches, Nepal are currently languishing seventh in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with two points on the board.

On the other hand, the Oman national cricket team will look to continue their winning momentum after they defeated Namibia by four wickets in their previous fixture in the ICC CWC League 2 in Dundee, Scotland in July.

Earlier, Oman kickstarted their ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 campaign in a tri-series that featured Scotland and Namibia.

While Oman’s opening game against Scotland was called off due to rain, the Aqib Ilyas-led side lost to Namibia by six wickets and later suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Scotland.

Having registered one win, two losses and one ended in no result, Oman are currently placed sixth in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with three points.

As per the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 format, the eight participating teams will compete in 24 tri-series�of six matches each.

The top four teams in ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 will directly qualify for ICC World Cup 2027 Qualifier while the four bottom-placed teams will take part in the ICC World Cup Qualifier Play-off, effectively a repechage tournament also including the top four teams from the ICC World Cup Challenge League, the third tier of international 50-over cricket.

The last time these two sides met, Nepal beat Oman by 84 runs in an ACC Men's Premier Cup 2023 group match in Kirtipur in April last year.
