What if football wasn’t just what happens on the field? There’s more to the sport than wins, losses, or goals from midfield. In reality, football carries the weight of legacy and identity, and nothing shows these better than the powerful lens of documentary films.

These stories will take you behind the scenes—into locker rooms, quiet moments, and struggles off the field. Whether you love football for its fiercest clashes, rich history, or dramatic goals, these films will give you something more, something real. Ready for a movie night? Here’s your watch list if you want to see the game like you’ve never done before.

The icons: Legendary players

Some players undeniably shine brighter than the rest, and it’s not just for what they did on the pitch but for how they shaped the sport forever. These films explore the lives of some of football’s biggest names. There are victories, but you also get to see the pressure, flaws, and moments that shaped their careers.

Messi (2014)

This 2014 film walks you through Lionel Messi’s rise from a small boy in Rosario, Argentina, to one of football’s greatest players in history. Directed by Álex de la Iglesia, it blends personal stories, youth footage, and insights from fellow players and coaches.

It dives into Messi’s quiet nature, early struggles, and growth at FC Barcelona, his club at the time of the film. Reviews and critics praised the film's rawness, pointing out the lack of insight into his character. Messi (2014) is available to watch on NBC, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime.

Ronaldo (2015)

Ronaldo gives a close look at Cristiano Ronaldo’s life on and off the field during a key year of his career. Shot for over 14 months, the film follows his journey as he wins his third Ballon d’Or award and juggles family, fame, and pressure. You also get a rare glimpse into his fatherly duties at home with his son. Ronaldo is available on Netflix and Apple TV.

Diego Maradona (2019)

As wild as it might get, Asif Kapadia’s Diego Maradona doesn’t hold back. Built from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage, the film tells the story of one of football’s most popular stars—how he became a football god and later a fallen one at Napoli.

This documentary explores his highs and lows, blending sports with fame, politics, and addiction. It’s raw, messy, and iconic—just like Diego. Watch it on HBO Max and Amazon Prime.

Inside the game: Championing clubs and women’s football

Beyond the icons are the clubs, fans, and women who’ve long fought for their spaces in the sport. These stories put you in the shoes of teams and players who don’t always get the spotlight. They show what it takes to build something great, from scratch or even from the edge of collapse.

Take Us Home: Leeds United (2019-2020)

This Amazon docuseries tracks Leeds United’s long road back to the Premier League after 16 years of fight. Narrated by Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe, it follows the team’s 2018-19 wild season under Marcelo Bielsa. More than a comeback, it’s a love letter to a city, a team, and their fans who refused to give up.

All or Nothing (2018–present)

All or Nothing is a sports docuseries covering top clubs and national teams worldwide. It features clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Juventus. Each season takes you straight into their locker rooms and training grounds.

The series offers an honest look at how teams handle wins, losses, transfers, and pressure. This is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Footeuses (2020)

This French documentary shines a light on women in football—dreamers who’ve had to fight for their place in the sport. Set after the 2019 World Cup, you get to meet the Paris Saint-Germain girls who are breaking barriers and showing how football isn’t just a man’s game. Watch the film on YARD’s official YouTube channel.

Beyond the game: Social and cultural views

Beyond the games, football reflects the world around it. It shows the deeper issues of power, race, identity, and even silence. These documentaries look at the game through a wide lens, showing how the sport can unite people and why what happens off the field matters.

Football’s Coming Out (2022)

In this day and age, you’d probably ask why there aren’t any openly gay players at the highest level of English football. This film follows what happens if gay male footballers try to come out in a sport that’s still tied to silence and fear.

It simply asks why so many still feel unsafe to come out, raising questions on inclusion and visibility in the game. You can watch this on Channel 4’s official website and YouTube channel.

Shame in the Game: Racism in Football (2020)

This BBC feature confronts the rise of racist abuse in the sport, both in stadiums and online. It includes direct accounts from players and actual footage of abuse, showing how deep this issue runs. This film is tough, but a must-watch to understand why change is more than needed now. Watch this on BBC iPlayer or She Scored’s YouTube channel.

Football’s exciting history in the bigger picture

These football documentaries do more than just entertain. They open your eyes to the passion, pain, and power that shape the game. From iconic stories to social issues, these films are a great reminder of why football is one of the biggest sports in the world.

So the next time you press play, know you’re not just watching a match—you’re peeking into the lives, dreams, and truths that make football what it is.

Leeds United pulled off a dramatic 3-1 win over Sheffield United, extending their lead at the top of the Championship by five points. It was their second comeback in a row after beating Sunderland last week.

Sheffield United took the lead when Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier made a mistake. He tried to save a header from Callum O'Hare, but the ball hit the bar. Tyrese Campbell’s rebound hit the post and bounced off Meslier into the net, giving the home team the lead.

Leeds found their rhythm in the second half. Junior Firpo equalised with a powerful header from Dan James' cross. With the game nearing a draw, Ao Tanaka scored a header off a corner in the 89th minute to give Leeds the lead. Moments later, Joel Piroe sealed the win with a brilliant strike from 20 yards, making it 3-1.

With this win, Leeds have not lost in their last 16 matches. They are seven points ahead of third-place Burnley. Sheffield United, who had won four games in a row before this, stayed in second place, with two points between them and Burnley.

Leeds shows resilience after a rough start

The game didn’t start well for Leeds. Meslier struggled early on, almost scoring an own goal from a corner. Then, he misjudged a long throw-in that caused more trouble. Despite making a big save on O'Hare’s header, Meslier’s luck ran out. He couldn’t stop Campbell’s header from hitting the post, and the ball bounced off him into his net.

In the last part of the first half, Leeds had a few chances but couldn’t score. They were much better in the second half. Firpo’s header brought the game level. Meslier also made big saves to stop Sheffield United from getting another goal.

In the final minutes, Tanaka scored with a header from a corner, and then Piroe added a long shot that sealed the victory. Leeds showed great spirit, proving why they’re at the top of the table.

Sheffield United left disappointed

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder gave credit to Leeds for their strong performance. He said his team played well at the start but lost control late. He was upset about giving up two goals in the last minutes, mostly from set-pieces.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke was proud of his team’s fight after a tough start. He said they found extra energy in the second half and deserved the win. Farke stressed that each win brings them closer to their goal of staying on top.

Next games for both teams

Leeds will now face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, hoping to keep their strong form. Sheffield United will look to bounce back against Queens Park Rangers on the same day.

Leeds United fought hard to defeat Sunderland 2-1 at Elland Road on a cold night. The match started with the latter team leading the board when Wilson Isidor scored a great goal. He showed skill and speed, leaving Leeds' defence behind.

Despite trailing, Leeds didn’t give up. Coach Daniel Farke made key changes, bringing in Pascal Struijk as a substitute. He quickly made an impact, scoring two goals in the game's final minutes. His first goal came from a powerful header after a free-kick by Joe Rothwell. The second goal followed moments later, sealing the win for Leeds.

This victory put Leeds at the top of the Championship, two points ahead of Sheffield United. They’re now unbeaten in 15 league games.

Meanwhile, Sunderland struggled to hold their position and faced disappointment again. Coach Régis Le Bris acknowledged the need for improvement, especially in their defence.

A struggling Leeds United host Chelsea in the rescheduled matchday 33 fixture of the Premier League 2021-22 season at Elland Road in the early hours of Thursday, May 12. The match will kick-off at 12:00 AM IST (Indian Standard Time).

With the FA Cup final looming, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is expected to make a few changes in the starting XI. This could see the likes of Malang Sarr and Saul Niguez being drafted into the team.

Leeds United, on the other hand, are fighting to avoid relegation and only a win could help them achieve that.

Leeds United vs Chelsea recent form

Leeds United have struggled to produce positive results to an extent that they have managed a solitary win in their last five matches. In fact, since the turn of the year, the team has registered a mere five wins in 18 games across all competitions.

Of late, they have lost to Arsenal (1-2), Manchester City (0-4) and have drawn against Southampton (1-1).

Chelsea, on the other hand, seemed to have lost the plot in recent games. The Blues, currently sitting third in the standings, have won just one of their last five games. During the period, they have lost to Arsenal and Everton and have drawn against Manchester United Wolves.

Leeds United vs Chelsea head-to-head

Since their first-ever meeting in 1927, Leeds United and Chelsea have played a total of 105 matches, with the former winning 39 and the latter coming out on top on 36 occasions. A whopping 30 matches have been drawn.

Taking only the Premier League games into consideration, the dominance shifts to the Blues from London, who have won 10 of the 27 Premier League matches between the two. Leeds, on their part, have won eight while nine matches have been drawn.

Leeds United vs Chelsea prediction and football betting tips for Premier League 2021-22

The Leeds United game couldn’t have come at a better time for Chelsea. Since the lead between them and the fourth-placed Arsenal has trimmed down to a solitary point, it’s really important for Chelsea to win the remaining matches to at least finish in the top three.

For Leeds, it’s a battle for survival, but given their current run of form, the job seems like an uphill task for them.

Leeds United (LU) host Manchester United (MUN) in Matchday 26 of the Premier League 2021-22 season at Elland Road on Sunday, February 20. The match will kick off at 7:30 PM IST.

LU vs MUN Dream11 prediction

Manchester United haven’t really enjoyed the best of forms this season. The team has scored the opening goal in each of their last four matches across all competitions but has failed to hold on to the lead in three of those. A recent 2-0 win over Brighton, however, is expected to uplift the spirit against a Leeds United team that has lost two of their last three league games.

We expect Manchester United to do the double over Marcelo Bielsa’s men on Sunday.

LU vs MUN Dream11 team tips for Premier League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo ended his goal-scoring drought against Brighton and is now highly tipped to make an impact against Leeds; a team against whom United have scored 11 goals in the last three meetings. It’s imperative to note that Ronaldo’s tally of 792 fantasy points in the Premier League is the highest among all strikers involved in this game.

Top tip: Best midfielder

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is an outright pick amongst the midfielders. The Portugal international has accrued a whopping 1,131 fantasy points this season while making it to the Dream Team in four of his last six outings.

Interestingly, Fernandes has been involved in six goals in his three league appearances against Leeds United (five goals and one assist), having scored a hat-trick in the reverse fixture on the opening weekend of the season.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has been in the thick of things despite falling out of favour earlier in the season. The 22-year-old full-back has tallied 194 fantasy points from his last five league games while making it to the Dream team on four occasions. He remains a strong recommendation for this game.

As for a goalkeeper, Manchester United’s David De Gea remains an obvious pick for this encounter. Selected by more than 60 per cent of fantasy users, the Spanish custodian has accumulated an impressive 866 fantasy points so far in the campaign.

LU vs MUN probable playing XI

Leeds United playing XI (probable): Illan Meslier (goalkeeper); Luke Ayling (captain), Diego Lorente, Pascal Struijk, Junior Firpo; Adam Forshaw, Robin Koch; Jack Harrison, Rodrigo Moreno, Raphinha; Daniel James

Manchester United playing XI (probable): David De Gea (goalkeeper); Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire (captain), Luke Shaw; Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba; Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho

Leeds United (LU) travel to London to take on Arsenal (ARS) in an EFL Cup 2021-22 round of 16 tie in the early hours of Wednesday, October 27. The match will kick off at 12:15 AM IST.

ARS vs LU Dream11 prediction

Considered domestic cup specialists by many, Arsenal have momentum on their side. The Gunners will head into the contest on the back of an emphatic 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League that extended their unbeaten run to seven matches (W5, D2).

As for Leeds United, it’s been a rather difficult season for Marcelo Bielsa’s men. Leeds are 17th on the Premier League points table and have won just two of their last eight matches across all competitions. This includes a 6-5 win over Fulham on penalties in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Considering the form and home advantage, Arsenal will have the edge on Wednesday.

ARS vs LU Dream11 team tips for EFL Cup 2021-22

Top tip: Best striker

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already scored a hat-trick in the EFL Cup this season. The Gabon striker has gone on to score four goals in his last seven outings. Considering the absence of Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford, Aubameyang becomes an automatic pick. That said, Alexandre Lacazette can also be considered as there are high chances of Mikel Arteta shuffling his team for this tie.

Top tip: Best midfielder

Wednesday’s match is set to feature several quality midfielders and one can opt to go with Nicolas Pepe from the center of the park. The 26-year-old was an unused substitute against Aston Villa in the Premier League and is likely to find a place in the starting XI against Leeds.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

With Kieran Tierney a doubt, versatile defender Calum Chambers has become the second most picked defender for this match after Leeds?Liam Cooper. Given Arsenal are likely to keep a clean sheet, Chambers remains a safe option.

Bernd Leno has lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale in the starting XI, but Arteta is most likely to use the former for the cup matches, which is why picking him in your fantasy football team is a must.

ARS vs LU probable playing XI

ARS playing XI (probable): Bernd Leno (goalkeeper); Cedric Soares, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding, Nuno Tavares; Mohamed Elneny, Ainsley Maitland-Niles; Martin Odegaard, Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli; Alexandre Lacazette (captain)

Leeds United playing XI (probable): Illan Meslier (goalkeeper); Jamie Shackleton, Pascal Struijk, Diego Llorente, Stuart Dallas (captain); Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw, Tyler Roberts, Daniel James, Raphinha; Tyler Roberts

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City may have taken an unassailable lead in the Premier League, but the season is far from over with both the UEFA Champions League as well as the Europa League slots yet to be finalized.

The likes of Fulham and Wolves have already inaugurated the matchweek 31, with winger Adama Traore slotting in a 92nd-minute winner for the latter. Up next is Manchester City’s home game against Leeds United followed by Liverpool hosting Aston Villa, Chelsea making a trip to Crystal Palace before the headline fixture takes place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where the home team squares off against Manchester United.

That said, let’s dive into the statistics to see what the matchweek 31 of the English Premier League has to offer.

Manchester City vs Leeds United

Manchester City’s last meeting with Leeds United may have ended in a 1-1 draw, but a lot has changed since. Between late December (2020) and early March, Guardiola’s men have won 21 games on the trot in all competitions and that duly affirmed their place at the top of the table.

Manchester City vs Leeds United head-to-head
Manchester City Metrics Leeds United
15 Matches 15
4 Wins 6
5 Draws 5

Leeds United’s rich history puts them in the favour as far as their head-to-head record against the Cityzens is concerned. The teams have played a total of 15 games in the competition, with Leeds winning six and City winning four. The current form, however, is what matters and City have the momentum on their side, winning four of their last five league games.

Meanwhile, Leeds?poor track record in defence this season is a further indication of why City are the firm favourites. Marcelo Bielsa?/strong>s men have conceded a whopping 48 goals this season, with 35 of them conceded away from home. City, on the other hand, have been a scoring machine, notching 66 goals in 31 games, which translates to more than two goals per game.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa

A sense of retribution will be on the cards when Liverpool host Aston Villa at Anfield on April 10. The Reds?last meeting against the Villans was a historic affair, with the latter putting past seven goals in a 7-2 victory at the Villa Park in October 2020. Be that as it may, Liverpool enter the round as favourites considering their superior form compared to Villa.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa record in last five games
Liverpool (Home) Metrics Aston Villa (Away)
0 Wins 2
0 Wins 2
5 Losses 1

Liverpool’s home record this season has been underwhelming at its very best, losing all of their last five home games. However, they have indeed won 28 of their 51 meetings with Aston Villa. The Reds tend to concede goals early in the game and that sure remains a worry for Jurgen Klopp. The positive, however, for them is Villa’s current form which has seen them win just one of their last five games in the Premier League. In these five games, the Villans have scored just two goals.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Chelsea have always dominated their London rivals Crystal Palace in the Premier League, with their last defeat against the Eagles coming back in 2017. Since then, the Blues have won six games on the trot, scoring two or more goals in five of those outings.

As one can expect, Chelsea vs Crystal Palace head-to-head record is outrightly dominated by the former, who have won 17 of the 23 meetings between the two teams. Chelsea tend to score more goals in the second half and one can expect them to do the same on Saturday. Even in their last meeting, which ended in a 4-0 win for Chelsea, all of their goals came in the second half itself.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea current form
Crystal Palace Metrics Chelsea
1 Wins 2
3 Draws 2
1 Losses 1

Chelsea have kept 10 clean sheets against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, and despite missing Thiago Silva due to suspension, one can put their money on another clean sheet for the Blues considering the fact that Palace have scored a mere three goals in their last five league games this season.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

Like Liverpool, Manchester United too have a point to prove against a struggling Tottenham Hotspur team which humiliated the Red Devils the last time these two teams met. United’s last league fixture against Tottenham ended in a 6-1 win for the latter at Old Trafford.

Manchester United endured mixed results against Tottenham of late, winning two and losing two of their last five meetings. During the course though, United have shown a sheer lack of goal scoring prowess while Tottenham have been completely contrary. In these last five games, Tottenham have scored 11 while United scored a mere four.

Tottenham vs Manchester United comparison of last five games

2 Clean Sheets 4

But what makes United favourites here is their away record in the Premier League. Not only have they been unbeaten for long in the league, but they have also always managed to salvage points more often than not.

Sheffield United vs Arsenal

A struggling Sheffield United team has been a lost cause this season, but they have indeed managed to surprise once in a blue. Now, their head-to-head record against Arsenal sure goes to the Gunners?way, but the fact remains that Mikel Arteta’s men are coming at the back of just two wins from their last five league games. Sheffield, on the other hand, only have a solitary win to show for during the course.

Sheffield United vs Arsenal head-to-head

9 Matches 9

The Gunners undoubtedly remain the outright favourites considering the fact that Sheffield have conceded the third most number of goals (52) this season while scoring a mere 17 goals in 30 games.

While league leaders Manchester City reestablished their 14-point lead in the Premier League title race, other teams in the top-six will play to bolster their chances of Champions League football for next season.

Last week saw Liverpool falter yet again and slip to eighth in the league standings, while on the other hand, Manchester United ended City's run of 21 successive victories with a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.

The latest game week provides us with a wholesome package of quality football, and, we bring you the numbers that will help you with insights on who stands favorites to win their respective ties.

Leeds vs Chelsea

Leeds United have endured a hot-and-cold season, but they will be eager to halt Chelsea's 11-game unbeaten run under new boss Thomas Tuchel at Elland Road.

While the head-to-head record between the clubs is marginally in favor of Chelsea with 9-8, the Blues have won just once at Leeds. Considering Chelsea's form of late, one can expect the Londoners to secure their second EPL win over the Whites, but in a master tactician in Marcelo Bielsa, the visitors cannot expect a favorable reception from the hosts, who need a win to move into the top-10.

Leeds have not beaten a 'big six' opponent in seven Premier League meetings this season, and Saturday's fixture could somehow spring up a surprise result.

Fulham vs Manchester City

Fulham's victory at Liverpool did offer some respite to the 18th-placed club, but with runaway leaders Manchester City travelling to Craven Cottage, onlookers can expect nothing but a loss for the Cottagers.

Pep Guardiola's men have won their last six meetings with Fulham in all competitions by an aggregate score of 18-0, but they will be wary of Scott Parker's men, who are seeking to be just the second team in Premier League history (Everton in 2010) to beat the reigning champions and the league leaders in consecutive matches.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

Bitter rivalries always get the best out of teams in a Premier League fixture, and this Sunday, Arsenal will host arch-rival Tottenham Hotspur in the 58th North London derby in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta's men have the edge in the head-to-head record, with 20 wins as opposed to Spurs' 14. But as far as form guide is concerned, both teams come into the tie on the back of massive wins in the Europa League.

Interestingly, Arsenal are winless in their last five meetings with Tottenham in all competitions, while Jose Mourinho's side are looking to win three consecutive league games against Arsenal for the first time since 1974. Fans can anticipate a quality contest of goals at the Emirates Stadium, but all eyes will be on Spurs captain Harry Kane, who is eager to build on his tally of 11 derby goals across all competitions.

Manchester United vs West Ham

Manchester United are still reeling from their disappointing 1-1 draw to AC Milan in the Europa League, and will seek to return to winning ways against West Ham.

As opposed to how this fixture would have been played in previous campaigns, the clubs will use this tie to bolster their chances for Champions League spot next season. And for David Moyes' men, a victory at Old Trafford - for the first time since 2007 - will add to their spectacular run in English top-flight football this season.

As for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, the stakes for their victory are high and the Red Devils will look to add to their tally of 15 goals in their last three home games. Should they score three-plus goals in this fixture, this will be the first instance of the club achieving this feat since the run between May and September 2011 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Wolves vs Liverpool

Having lost six league games in a row at Anfield, following the loss to Fulham last week, a beleaguered Liverpool seek solace from their trip to an inconsistent Wolves on Monday morning.

The Reds have slipped down to eighth on the points table, but appear to have some hope for a top-four finish following their improved display in their Champions League tie a few days back. Diego Jota, who swapped Wolves for Liverpool, will be tasked with hunting down his former employers who are without a win in their last three games.

In terms of the Wolves vs Liverpool head-to-head record, Jurgen Klopp's men have the outright edge with a 10-1 record and the reigning champions will look to consolidate their current away run of five wins in six (if one has to factor their “home?second leg against Leipzig was played on the road in neutral Budapest).

The English Premier League return to its glory over the weekend following a brief round of FA Cup fixtures, and the matchweek 24 brings along some exciting games right from the beginning.

Brendan Rodgers?Leicester City open the account against an out-of-form Liverpool on Satruday followed by Burnley’s trip to Crystal Palace later in the day. Manchester City then take on Tottenham Hotspur before the attention moves to Sunday’s games.

Given the nature of the Premier League, the games in the offering during matchweek 24 are rightly expected to cause a major stir in the points tally. But those looking for preemptive statistics, here is all you need to know:

Leicester City vs Liverpool

Leicester City’s winless run against Liverpool has stretched upto seven games in all competitions. As far as Premier League is concerned, they haven’t defeated the Reds since their 3-1 in February 2017. One can rightly expect goals in the game given the fact their last 0-0 draw dates back to March 2004.

Leicester City vs Liverpool head-to-head record is expectedly dominated by the Reds, who have won 16 of 29 meetings between the teams. The Foxes have been on the winning side on just seven occasions. Judging by the current form though, it’s hard to predict a winner as both have won just two of their last five games. Liverpool, however, have lost as many as three games while Leicester have one.

But what makes Liverpool the slight favourites is their away record this season. The team has not only won three of their last five away games but have also scored 22 goals in all games away from home; six more than Leicester’s home tally. One can expect the Foxes to break the deadlock, but don’t write Liverpool off in the second half given that a whopping 15 of their 22 away goals have come in the final 45 minutes.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City are on a roll since the turn of the year. Following their 3-1 win over Swansea City in the FA Cup, City registered a 15th successive victory, which is now the longest run by a top-flight side in English football history. Up next for them is a stern test against Tottenham, who have just welcomed Harry Kane back in the team.

Tottenham may dominate City in their head-to-head record that sees them winning 25 of the 47 meetings, but the momentum is rightly on City’s side. Statistically, Pep Guardiola’s men are tipped to open the scoring as they have netted a whopping 10 goals in within opening 30 minutes at home this season. Make no mistake though, Tottenham may equalize in the first period too as they have scored 10 of their 19 away goals in the opening 45 minutes.

City’s recent record against Tottenham has been truly underwhelming, to say the least. They have been on the losing side twice in their last three meetings, meaning that their last win over Jose Mourinho’s men dates back to April 2019. But be it as it may, you can rightly punt on City to run away with all three points.

West Brom vs Manchester United

Following a setback against Everton in the Premier League, which has seen Manchester City extending their lead to five points at the top of the table, Manchester United now make a trip to The Hawthorns to face relegations strugglers, West Brom.

United’s away form has been a cause of distress for their opponents this season. The Red Devils are unbeaten in 18 away games so far, and it’s hard to see West Brom putting a dent in their run. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United have won 16 of their 25 meetings against the Baggies, while West Brom have won a mere four.

As far as goal scoring is concerned, United have scored more than thrice as many goals (24) away from home than West Brom have (7) at home. United’s inability to find the net in the opening 15 minutes, however, remains a concern. Nevertheless, even if United go behind, you can rightly punt on a potential comeback in the second period given that they have scored 16 of their 24 away goals in the final 45 minutes.

Arsenal vs Leeds United

Both Arsenal and Leeds United are in desperate need of points, which makes this fixture all the more important. While Arsenal lead the head-to-head chart with 12 wins in 25 Premier League games, their recent form is a cause of concern. Both Arsenal and Leeds have lost twice in their last five games, but the latter has, in fact, won thrice too.

Arsenal’s ineffectiveness in front of goal at home can be underlined by the fact that they have netted just 12 goals at the Emirates this season. Leeds, on the other hand, have scored 22 away from home, scoring 11 goals in either half. The Peacocks, however, have conceded the same amount of goals away from home. Leeds have developed a pattern this season, a pattern on conceding goals in the first period itself. They have, in fact, let in 14 goals in the opening 45 minutes away from home.

The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw, and one can expect a similar result this time too.

Chelsea vs Newcastle United

Chelsea have been marginally winning games since bringing Thomas Tuchel at the helm and a game against a struggling Newcastle United side doesn’t seem to change that. Newcastle’s away record is exactly what puts Chelsea in front. The Magpies have lost three of their last five away games so far, and they are even winless in all of their last five visits at Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle’s goal-scoring prowess has taken a hit too. The team has scored just one goal in the opening 45 minutes away from home this season, meaning that Chelsea are rightly expected to take the lead as they have netted eight goals during the period at home. As far as defending is concerned, both teams have struggled in their own way. While Chelsea has let in 11 goals at Stamford Bridge this season, Steve Bruce’s men have conceded 17 away from home.

Patrick Bamford played one of the most important roles in Leeds United's promotion to the Premier League as he top-scored for his side with 16 goals in 45 Championship appearances last term. But he was written off by many pundits even before the ongoing Premier League season began. The list of his critics includes ex-player Mark Viduka and former manager David O'Leary as well.

However, all those criticisms didn't have any negative impact on him. Instead, it only fueled him to deliver even better as Patrick Bamford stats read seven goals in just 10 Premier League games. That constitutes almost fifty per cent of the total goals Leeds have scored in Premier League 2020-21 season till now.

His performances include a second-half hat-trick against Aston Villa as well and thus he has proven himself as one of the best strikers in the ongoing season.

It was in 2018 that Leeds signed the English striker for a £7m fee. He scored nine goals in 22 championship appearances in his debut season, which was also marred by two critical knee injuries. But he came back fitter and stronger in the 2019-20 season as his scoring prowess helped them deliver the promotion that Leeds fans had been craving for 16 years.

Two things that have worked perfectly for Bamford and have made him feel at home here are Marcelo Bielsa's belief in him and his partnership with Mateusz Klich.

“Since he’s come in he’s put his faith in me from the beginning," Bamford told talkSPORT last month.

“There were tough times last season when he stuck by me because as long as I was working for the team, even if I wasn’t scoring, he still had this belief in me.

“There’s a big thing there where I feel like I need to repay him and I’ve a good start and that goes some way to repaying him.?/span>

Clearly, Bielsa's belief has worked wonders for Bamford. Moreover, the role he has assigned to Klich has helped Bamford in many ways too. The Poland international has assisted three of Bamford's seven goals in this season. Two of them have come when Klich has played further forward as an attacking midfielder.

Klich provides additional support to Bamford and his presence in the final third often opens up opportunities for Bamford as the defenders have to deal with his threat as well. Klich himself has scored twice this season along with the three assists.

Bamford is currently in a system which will help him thrive further. He didn't score in Leeds' 1-0 win over Everton last Saturday but he kept troubling the defenders like he always does. He took six shots out of which one was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 90%, won one header, took 20 touches, and made one clearance as well. So, even if his name isn't on the scoresheet, the aforementioned statistics show that he still offers plenty of value to the side.
