Aguero leaves City as a club legend and their all-time top scorer. Since making his Premier League debut in the 2011-12 season, the forward made 390 appearances for the Cityzens, scoring 260. During his 10-year stint with the Manchester club, Aguero won five Premier League titles, six League Cups and one FA Cup. He came close to winning the UEFA Champions League this season, but fell short as City lost to Chelsea 1-0 in the final.

May 28: 09:30 PM: David Alaba joins Real Madrid from Bayern Munich

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of defender David Alaba on a five-year contract after leaving Bayern Munich. Alaba will be presented as a Real player after Euro 2020, the statement added.

England will start as one of the favourites to win the UEFA Euro 2020 as The Three Lions will look to end their international title drought that goes back to 1966 when they won the FIFA World Cup on home soil.

Under the tutelage of Gareth Southgate, England breezed through the qualifying stage, winning seven of their eight games and scoring 37 goals to seal a place in the finals.

Harry Kane and his men are placed in Group D alongside 2018 FIFA World Cup finalists Croatia, old rivals Scotland and Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, a few days after Southgate announced his 26-man squad for the upcoming European Championships, England suffered a massive blow as their star right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was ruled out of the tournament with a thigh injury.

However, the England head coach will not name a replacement for Alexander-Arnold until after Sunday's final warm-up game with Romania.

England squad for Euro 2020

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford

Defenders: Ben Chilwell, Conor Coady, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips (Leeds), Declan Rice (West Ham)

Forwards: Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling

SWOT Analysis of England Euro 2020 squad

Strength

England boast of a star-studded squad that will look to claim their maiden UEFA European Championship. With the likes of Harry Kane, Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling in their ranks, their attacking options are in plenty. England head coach Gareth Southgate will have issues selecting his front line as he is spoilt for choices.

They will also hope Harry Kane can continue his incredible run after he scored 23 goals and assisted 14 times in the Premier League 2020-21 season.

Weaknesses

The Three Lions lack a world-class goalkeeper in their 26-man squad. Everton’s Jordan Pickford is expected to be the number one goalkeeper for England ahead of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone. While all the three shot-stoppers are promising, they are yet to prove their mettle at the biggest events.

In the centre-back positions, England have Harry Maguire, Conor Coady, John Stones and Tyrone Mings to select from. Maguire missed the last four league games of the season and the UEFA Europa League final following an ankle ligament damage. Such injury concerns could be England's Achilles heel.

Opportunity

With the semi-finals and final to be played at Wembley, the England football team will have an incredible opportunity to emulate the Boys of 66 by lifting a major international trophy for the first time in over five decades.

Furthermore, the England squad is brimming with world-class talent at almost every position and it is just the perfect time to claim their first Euro title.

Threat

England have scored a whopping 37 goals in eight UEFA European Championship qualifying matches this campaign. With the kind creativity in their midfield ranks along with the attacking prowess in the forward line, The Three Lions will look to continue their goalscoring form at Euro 2020.

The England football team will begin their Euro 2020 campaign against Croatia on June 13.

The action is getting vigorous as we approach the midway through the January transfer window. While a few top deals have already concluded, fans expect to witness some key movements in the remaining days. That being said, we dive deep to take a look at all the latest happenings in the ongoing transfer window.

Liverpool finding Wijnaldum replacement

Liverpool and their midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum have hit the rock bottom in finding a solution to his contract extension. The former Newcastle United midfielder sees his contract expiring at the end of the 2020-21 Premier League season, and there are high chances that he moves away in the summer, with FC Barcelona deemed as a potential destination. With that being said, Liverpool have identified a certain Renato Sanches as a worthy replacement.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano, through his Here We Go podcast, has said that Liverpool might very well make a move, albeit in the summer transfer window. “Pay attention to Renato Sanches,?he said. “Next summer he will be on the market and Liverpool are looking at him.

“There is nothing advanced yet but they are looking at him as an opportunity. He’ll be the main target for top clubs and also for Liverpool.?/span>

The 2016 Golden Boy recipient endured subpar tenures at Bayern Munich followed by a brief spell with Swansea City in the Premier League before making a permanent move to the Ligue 1 club Lille in 2019.

Alli wants PSG move

Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at PSG has rekindled Dele Alli’s transfer speculation to the French capital. It is being quoted that the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is pushing for a move for the England international this month. After falling down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, Alli himself is looking for a change, at least for the remainder of the season, and interest from PSG is certainly hard to reject.

As for Tottenham, they are reluctant on doing any kind of business as they believe every player in the team will be a key cog in the final six months of the season. Alli, on his part, has made a mere four appearances in the league this season, playing just 74 minutes. He has further played eight games across the UEFA Europa League and domestic cup games.

There are no suggestions that Alli has had a fall-out with anyone in the team, but he does want to play regular football.

Can United finally sign Jadon Sancho?

Manchester United’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho was arguably the most talked-about saga in the 2019 summer transfer window. The transfer eventually failed as the Red Devils refused to meet the ?20m valuation of the player, but there’s a glimmer of hope for Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer as it is being quoted that Dortmund have brought in a certain 19-year-old Stuttgart winger Tanguy Coulibaly in their radar.

Coulibaly, who joined VfB Stuttgart on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last year, has been identified as a potential Sancho replacement and if Dortmund manage to conclude a deal, there are high chances that Sancho will be allowed to leave. It will, however, be interesting to see how Dortmund conclude the transfer especially after stating that the demand of ?20m ‘never existed in reality.?/span>

“The alleged transfer fee often mentioned in the media never existed in reality,?said Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. “And if you get a signal at some point that a large part of the amount offered will only be paid in a few years, it will finally be a purely theoretical discussion,?he explained.

Manchester United's pursuit of acquiring a winger has taken them to Barcelona, as journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Red Devils have 'opened the talks' with the Catalan club over a possible loan move for Ousmane Dembele. Meanwhile, there are also reports that the Premier League are considering a new and improved bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Jandon Sancho.

It is said that United have shortlisted as many as four players and France international remains their priority if their attempt of landing Sancho goes south. The other players in the list are Watford's Ismaila Sarr, Real Madrid's Luka Jovic and free agent Edinson Cavani.

Earlier this week, United made an official attempt of £91.3m (?00m) for Sancho, but the bid was straightway rejected by Dortmund. The offer, in fact, was an initial £73m, rising to up to £91.3m, which is significantly short of Dortmund's £108m valuation of the player.

Dortmund had initially set a deadline of August 10 to match the asking price or clearly mentioned that the 20-year-old won’t leave. The Red Devils, however, have not given up on their pursuit and expect to complete the deal before the transfer window closes on October 5.

As far as Dembele is concerned, new Barca boss Ronald Koeman hinted that the club are open to do business for the player.

"The first thing to say is that it is up to the club and to the player.

"But he is with us and as we've seen in recent weeks I am counting on him....he has to wait to play but he is training well, getting fitter.?/p>

Manchester United’s only summer signing has been Donny van de Beek, who arrived from Ajax on a five-year deal for a fee reported to be around £35m. Furthermore, if United do manage to acquire a winger, Daniel James?playing time is expected to suffer. The 22-year-old, who arrived from Swansea City in 2019, was a subject of interest from Leeds United, but he said he wants to stay and fight for his place.

Manchester United have been in the process of negotiating with Jadon Sancho for the better part of the transfer window - a deal that, should it materialise - would be a British record at £108m.

Last month, however, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said the club had extended Sancho's Dortmund contract to 2023 and that his decision of staying was 'final'.

As Dortmund prepare to begin their Bundesliga campaign on Monday with a fixture against Duisberg, coach Lucien Favre, speaking to Swiss news agency SDS, seemed convinced that Sancho is going nowhere. "We need him, no question about it. Everyone was happy that he stayed.

"We don't need to talk long about his qualities - they are enormous. He scores and prepares many goals, can often make all the difference.

"But there are a few details that Sancho needs to improve. That's normal for a 20-year-old."

United, though, have reportedly continued negotiations as they have marked the right-wing as a priority position and their preference is to negotiate a deal comprising add-ons. However, the pace of the negotiations with Sancho's agent Emeka Obasi and intermediary Marco Lichtsteiner, acting on behalf of Dortmund, have been too slow for United's liking, with a resolution over Sancho's salary expectations and his agent's fees being a stumbling block.

Therefore, despite reportedly making some progress with Obasi recently, the team are also sizing up the likes of David Brooks, Douglas Costa and Ivan Perisic as possible options to Sancho.

It's not the first time United have gone after Sancho, as an attempt to sign him from Manchester City in 2017 was blocked and the winger ended up joining Dortmund for £8m.

Borussia Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke says the Bundesliga runners-up have had "no contact" with Manchester United over England winger Jadon Sancho.

According to UK media reports, Man Utd want to sign the 20-year-old who scored 17 goals and created the same number of assists last season as Dortmund finished second behind champions Bayern Munich.

Sancho is valued at around 120 million euros ($142 million) and Dortmund have said they have yet to receive an offer for their talented forward who joined in 2017 from Manchester City's academy.

"So far, there has been no contact between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in terms of Sancho," chief executive Watzke told Munich-based newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

"Not even indirectly or through so-called middlemen.

"There has never been an offer for Jadon, but there is a certain sum from us as to what should at least be paid," Watzke added, referring to the 120 million euros price tag.

"I don't expect there to be any problems.

"Jadon has accepted the situation and is a pleasant, fair bloke."

Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc says he plans to have Sancho in the squad for the new German league season, which kicks off on September 18.

"I expect Jadon to go to training camp on Monday (at Bad Ragaz, Switzerland) and play with us for the coming season," added Zorc.

However, the transfer window in both Germany and England does not close until October 5, a date extended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Dortmund need to handle Sancho carefully as both former stars Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forced transfers to Barcelona in 2017 and Arsenal in 2018 respectively by effectively going on strike.

The departure of Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan on a free transfer has not only freed up a ton of wages from the books for Manchester United, but it has also vacated their iconic #7 jersey.

Donned by the likes of Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, the United #7 jersey has been considered cursed, owing to the failures of all of that succeeded Ronaldo in donning the iconic number.

The jersey comes with a fair share of expectations from the Old Trafford faithful and the club hierarchy believe that they may have found the man who’ll be able to handle to pressure and live up to the billing after wearing the #7 jersey, and it’s Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old winger Jadon Sancho.

The Englishman, who moved to Dortmund from United’s local rivals Manchester City, has been touted to make a move to Old Trafford in a deal that will see the club break the British record transfer.

The price tag and the weight of expectation is bound to bog down any footballer, but United believe that Sancho can finally end the terrible spell of the #7 jersey and here’s why:

Addressing Manchester United's right-wing woes

Since Luis Nani’s departure in 2014, United have struggled to fill the role on the right flank.

Juan Mata, Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and Alexis have all tried to fill the gap on the right-wing, however, none of these players has been able to fill the gap. Three of those - Depay, Young and Alexis - preferred to play on the left, while Mata and Di Maria were more inclined to play centrally rather than out wide.

Sancho, since moving to Dortmund, has primarily operated as a right-winger, and has thrived in that role in the free-scoring German side. In the past two campaigns, the 20-year-old has scored 33 goals and provided 39 assists majorly from the right flank, far more than the production that any of United’s stop-gap solutions on the right flank could muster.

United currently deploy either Dan James, who is still an unrefined asset, and Mason Greenwood, who prefers to cut in and shoot and sparsely participates in the build-up, on the right flank and Sancho will be a massive upgrade on both those players.

Being naturally right-footed and with a lethal eye for a pass, Sancho can stretch the defence, which will facilitate line-breaking runs from Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, further increasing the duo’s threat in the attacking third.

Great rapport with Rashford and a long-term solution

Sancho shares a great bond with England international teammates Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

Rashford, who has been United’s star man in attack, could further benefit from playing with a world-class talent like Sancho, and the camaraderie the duo share will make it an easy transition for them from the training ground to the stadium.

If United do sign the Englishman, the average age of their front five comprising Rashford, Anthony Martial, Greenwood, James and Sancho would be just 22, and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have a frontline where each player is capable of playing in all three forward positions.

The tactical flexibility and the long-term solution that Sancho provides makes it a no-brainer for Manchester United to pull the trigger on this deal. And if what murmurs around Europe suggest is true, Sancho is all set to become the most expensive English player of all time as well as the owner of one of the most iconic jerseys in football history.

Borussia Dortmund would turn to the transfer market should they lose England winger Jadon Sancho to Manchester United next month, the Bundesliga runners-up have revealed.

"If Jadon were to leave, we would once again be active in strengthening our attack," sports director Michael Zorc told magazine Kicker on Thursday.

"There are certainly one or two players we have our sights on."

Sancho, 20, stood out last season with 17 league goals and as many assists as Dortmund finished second to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

He scored the first hat-trick of his career in a 6-1 drubbing of bottom side Paderborn at the end of May.

The fleet-footed forward, who joined from Manchester City's academy in 2017, has repeatedly been linked to their rivals United and Dortmund want 120 million euros for him ($136 million).

A decision whether Sancho stays or goes is expected at the end of August.

So far, Dortmund have signed Belgium international Thomas Meunier at right-back on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to replace Achraf Hakimi.

The German giants are also expected to sign English youngster Jude Bellingham, 17, from Birmingham City for around 25 million euros before next term.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho has been the most obvious talk of the town of late. And with the number of potential suitors increasing followed by the imminent arrival of Jude Bellingham from Birmingham, Sancho’s exit from Germany seems like just a matter of time.

Dortmund had signed Sancho as a 17-year-old from Manchester City for a mere £8 million, and it didn’t take long for him to assert his claim in one of the toughest leagues of Europe. Three years on, the winger has now become one of the most wanted commodities, especially in England.

The situation, however, is tricky, with Sky Sports reporting Manchester United will not pay more than £50m for the 20-year-old, while Dortmund are hanging on to their £100m valuation of their player. And while Sancho himself is keen on moving back to England, with Manchester United tipped as favourites, failing to achieve a middle-ground in the negotiation would mean United will have to look for options.

That said, here are five players who might fit the bill for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United:

Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona)

Jadon Sancho’s game revolves around speed and flair coupled with an ability to take on defender after defender; a trait also matched by Philippe Coutinho. Having endured a tough time since moving to Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 for a fee reported to be around £142 million, the Brazilian has slowly become an unwanted commodity in Spain.

Coutinho put in a strong showing at Bayern Munich while on loan for the 2019/20 season, scoring eight goals and six assists in 23 league appearances, but the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions are adamant on not making his deal a permanent one, which is set to cost them a reported fee of ?20m. The situation is indeed tedious, but Manchester United can forge in between to take the Brazilian out of his misery.

However, if United are to consider a move, there are a couple of factors that might hinder their approach, with the first being his six years of history with Liverpool. That can well and truly be resolved, but the final thing they need to negotiate is the fee, with Barcelona looking to recoup as much as they can.

Ferran Torres (Valencia)

Statistics-wise, Valencia’s Ferran Torres hasn’t done much to be in the league of Sancho, having scored just four goals and four assists in 31 La Liga appearances, but it is his style of play which has garnered the attention of some of the top clubs of Europe.

If reports are to be believed, should Sancho exit, United will have to compete with the likes of Juventus and even Borussia Dortmund for Torres, who has excelled in becoming Valencia’s youngest Champions League goalscorer and youngest to play 50 La Liga games at 19 years and 324 days old.

Torres is usually deployed as a right-winger, but his versatility allows him to play on the left and as a centre-forward too. Known for playing some dangerous key passes into the final third, Torres?game revolves around dribbling and taking on defenders on his own at times. He may well and truly not be a like-to-like replacement of Sancho, but given his age, there’s always a scope for improvement.

Adama Traore (Wolves)

"He is a motorcycle! It’s almost impossible. Nobody can handle this pace,?Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had said ahead of his side’s clash against Wolves in December, and the Spaniard’s assessment turned out to be perfect, as the Wolves went on to clinch all three points, with Traore terrorising the City defence as if it was a piece of cake.

Traore, at times, may seem like an unfinished product, but at 24, he has all the time in the world.

Having scored six goals and nine assists in all competitions this season, Traore has established himself as one of the fastest players at present. The 24-year-old sure has some disciplinary issues, but there’s certainly no questioning his return on the field.

Traore has averaged a whopping 5.1 dribbles and 1.3 key passes per game and has established an exhilarating partnership with Raul Jimenez.  The duo has, in fact, combined for 10 Premier League goals this season, the most of any EPL duo, and just the seventh different partnership to manage at least 10 in a single campaign in the competition.

Paulo Dybala (Juventus)

United’s pursuit of Paulo Dybala has time and again manifested in the tabloids since the last summer transfer window. The Argentine attacker, however, has gone from being offered to a host of clubs last year to one of Juventus?most important players this season.

Having scored 16 goals and seven assists in all competitions, Dybala would be an ideal candidate if United fail to land Sancho, with the 26-year-old sharing several common traits with the Dortmund winger.

Dybala, like Sancho, loves to bring his teammates into the game and plays several key passes in the final third. And while his defensive contribution has been questioned, the overall quality he brings into the game is almost unmatchable. The Argentine, this season, has averaged 3.1 shots, two key passes and 1.9 dribbles per game in Serie A; a statistic which is bound to excite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen)

Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz has caused a serious stir amongst some of the top European clubs, having scored 12 goals and six assists in 30 Bundesliga games this season. From the lot, Chelsea are expected to be the favourites, but an offer from Manchester United will be just as tempting for the 21-year-old.

Havertz is a tad different than Sancho as he loves to play centrally rather than on the wings. Make no mistake though, he is versatile enough to be deployed on the wings as well as a centre-forward. In fact, 10 of his 15 goals have come either from the centre-forward position or from the right-wing.

Ahead of the Bundesliga restart, Havertz was directly involved in 17 goals for Bayer Leverkusen in all competitions in 2020 (10 goals, seven assists); two more than any other player in the competition. A serious nominee for Solskjaer.

Bayern Munich rumbled towards an eighth straight Bundesliga title on Saturday after their comfortable win at Bayer Leverkusen, while players throughout the league renewed support for the Black Lives Matters protests sparked by the death of George Floyd.

We look at five key things from Saturday's action:

Bayern unstoppable?

You have to go back to before Christmas to find a match which Bayern lost, and their stroll at Leverkusen took Hansi Flick's side to 11 straight wins in all competitions and kept them seven points clear with just four matches remaining.

A goal down after 10 minutes against a team that beat them at the Allianz Arena in November, Bayern responded with two quick goals just before half-time to establish a stranglehold on the match after Kingsley Coman's equaliser.

From that point, Bayern were calm and composed as they saw out a ninth league win in a row that allows to put one hand on the Bundesliga trophy.

However, bookings for both Thomas Mueller and Robert Lewandowski -- who scored his 30th league goal of the season -- mean that they will miss next week's clash with Champions League-chasing Borussia Moenchengladbach, where a win will as good as seal the title.

Floyd tributes continue

Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin players were the latest to show their support for demonstrations across the USA and George Floyd, a black American who died in Minneapolis last month while being arrested by police officers, by taking a collective knee around the Signal Iduna Park centre circle before their match.

They had been preceded by Mainz's Cameroonian midfielder Pierre Kunde Malong, who sunk to one knee after scoring in Mainz's 2-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt, emulating similar gestures from last weekend.

Both Dortmund and Bayern Munich wore T-shirts showing solidarity with the protests, with Bayern players warming up in tops bearing both the Black Lives Matter hashtag and the slogan of the club's official "Reds Against Racism" campaign.

Werner shows his worth

Timo Werner showed why Chelsea are reportedly set to spend 50 million euros (£44.5 million) on bringing him to the Premier League, setting up Patrik Schick to take the lead and playing with the verve that has attracted the attention of Europe's biggest clubs.

The German forward has scored 31 times in all competitions for Leipzig this season and prestigious magazine Kicker reports that Chelsea will pay less than Werner's 55 million-euro release clause to bring the 24-year-old to the Premier League.

Leipzig sporting director Oliver Mintzlaff said that no deal had yet been done for Werner, although he made it clear that Werner would be leaving come the end of the season.

"We are sure that we will find a solution with his new club which allows us to end the Bundesliga season with Timo," said Mintzlaff.

'Huge talent' Wirtz breaks through

A new young star made the headlines for Leverkusen in the absence of Kai Havertz, with Florian Wirtz becoming the youngest goalscorer in Bundesliga history.

Wirtz, who only made his top-flight debut last month, supplanted former Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin when he bagged Leverkusen's consolation goal in the final seconds at 17 years and 34 days old.

"We already knew he was a huge talent, that's why he has played before," said Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz.

Emre cans Sancho after rallying Dortmund

Emre Can kept Borussia Dortmund's faint hopes of winning the title alive with the only goal in a 1-0 win over dogged Hertha Berlin and quickly tore a strip off young gun Jadon Sancho following the England winger's haircut controversy.

Can, who struck in the 58th minute to keep Dortmund seven points behind Bayern with four games to play, said Sancho needed to be "more grown up" after being pictured having a haircut with neither the 20-year-old nor the hairdresser wearing any personal protective equipment.

"We need to guide Jadon a bit. He can't afford to make mistakes like that in the future, and we can always talk to him about that as a team," said Can.
